A magical coast
Güigui is one of the many spots on Gran Canaria that transport all those who visit it to another world. The line of cliffs and sight of the waves crashing against the scarped shoreline and the rocks captivate visitors, who must negotiate a winding road to get here.
The sea conditions and wind strength (or indeed if there is any wind) can be gauged with the naked eye and, if the weather is good, we should not just admire the stunning view but also treat ourselves to a lovely dip in the sea at Tasarte. For this, we need to make our way down the stone path from the parking area. This is probably when we will encounter the most challenging part of the journey given that the path is very steep and puts our knees to the test on the way down and our breathing on the way back up.
Along the way we will see several signs indicating possible directions to take. However, we continue down towards the harbour, taking care with each step, until we reach the swimming zone with sundy provide the perfect end to our journey.
Conversely, it the sea conditions are not appropriate, we should avoid swimming even if it is still worth stopping to contemplate nature in all its splendour on one of Gran Canaria's loveliest pieces of coastline.
